Saturday Show: Stargathers

Hello Peeps,

Today's show is a wall-hanginging that the Mother made for Miss H many years ago.

It hangs in Miss H's room and reminds her of her childhood.

Isn't that such a coolio rhyme?

The Mother hand stitched the rhyme.

The Mother also hand appliqued the angels and stars on.

Woops! It was quite windy outside.

This is Miss H's favourite angel.

Faith, Hope and Love Table Runner

Hello Peeps,

Today's show is the beautiful table runner that lives on our dining room table.

The Mother hand stitched blacket stitch around the letters, stems, and berries.

I hope that Miss H will roll me over very soon.

Stamped and Buttoned Up Bookmarks!

Hello Peeps,

Yummy! Grandma made pavlova for Birthday Dinner Dessert.

This is Priscilla.  She is helping me show the bookmarks that the Mother made.

Aren't they soooo coolio? They were made out of the selvage edges of a Nottinghill jelly roll.

The Mother decided to use scrapbooking papers on the back.

Doesn't that flower button make it even cuter?!

We got new letter stamps yesterday and the Mother added "read" to her bookmark.

Unfortunately Miss H wasn't able to finish the Mother's birthday present in time, but she wanted to give the Mother something on her birthday. So... she made a bookmark!

This bookmark is extra special because it is out of the French General selvages and the Mother loves French General.

It even has her name stamped on it. :)

AWESOMENESS!!!

 Hello Peeps,

Why, yes I do contain traces of AWESOME!

On the Boss' birthday we took him out to watch the NZ Breakers (basketball). And they won. YAY!

On Wednesday Master C. came to visit so the Mother could help him with schoolwork. And craft, of course!

The Mother loves the idea of the bookmarks so she asked if Master C. wanted to make a couple. He made this one for his sister.

On the back he stamped her name with our super-duper coolio letter stamps.

He made another bookmark for his Dad.

Master C. likes working with wood best. He made this AWESOME boat out of driftwood.
(P.S. The painting is of Cathedral Cove. You may recognize it from the movie Prince Caspian.)

Saturday Show: Teds in Bed

Hello Peeps,

Today's Saturday Show is a teddy-bear sized quilt. And I have a BEARY special guest to help me show it.

This is Little Ted. He was given to the Mother on the day she was born (some 30...40...50... years ago).

The Mother made him this quilt to keep him warm in his old age.

It was created out of someone's blocks that went wrong. Isn't it adorable?

And guess what? It is Little Ted's and the Mother's birthday on Tuesday.  So that means CAKE!!!
The Boss' birthday was yesterday and the cake is part of his and the Mother's joint birthday cake made by Grandma.

Don't the teddy bears look comfortable in bed?

Enjoy your weekend. I will be feasting on carrot cake. YAY!!!

Selvaged Bookmarks.

Hello Peeps,

Last week Miss H went on a 1st-aid course. She was very keen to practice what she had learned. The Mother refused to volunteer (might of had something to do with Miss H suggesting the Mother should break her leg...) so I became Miss H's patient.

I am quite alright. The bandages are just for show (I really haven't broken anything!)

Thankfully Miss H has been distracted the last couple of days with her latest idea and has forgotten about more first- aid practice - although sadly she has also forgotten to remove my bandages too.

The other day Miss H was looking through a pile of selvage edges wondering what to do with them. They were far too small to sew together because they are from the ends of jelly rolls. She was thinking of throwing them away when I came up with a BRILLANT idea!!!

Why not glue them onto tags? They would make great bookmarks, gift tags, etc.

And that is exactly what Miss H did. :)

Once Miss H had made the first ones she really got into it and looked through her selvage edges for more selveges to cut up. Here are the ones she made out of scraps from a couple of beach themed quilts the Mother is making.

This is the one Miss H made for herself. She added the little bit of fabric with the word "Crabs" on it.

This is the one she made for the Mother.  Isn't it coolio how the selvage edges have names on them?

The backs look just as coolio too!
(The Mother's is on the right, Miss H's is on the left.)

They will make perfect seaside summer reading bookmarks.

Today I am going to show you one of the wallhangings on The Mother's bedroom wall.

Have you got the picture yet get? Good, now please get me off the curtain rail.

You just need to add me and the Enemy.

Aren't they the coolio-est little applique and stitchery blocks?

The Mother quilted it with ties and buttons.
